All analysis tools and most other data-processing dialog boxes include a Recalculate control.
This feature allows you generate a new set of results when the input data or other parameters related to the current operation are changed. This list control provides three options:

If Recalculate is set to None, the output is disconnected from the input data. Subsequent changes to the input data will not result in an update to the original output data. Additionally, it isn't possible to reopen the dialog box using the Change Parameters shortcut menu command (see below) and make adjustments to the analysis parameters (The Set Column Values dialog box is the one exception). |

If Recalculate is set to Auto, the results are automatically updated when the input data changes. |
| Manual (Default) |
If Recalculate is set to Manual, you are able to manually trigger an update following changes to the input data. |
When Recalculate is set to Manual or Auto, the output results (analysis report sheets or worksheet columns) will be marked with a green lock icon. If set to Manual, any change to the input data will change the lock icon to yellow 
. This is to alert you that the results no longer match the input data and that an update is needed. At this point, you can click on the lock icon and open a context menu with the following options:

Delete all the output results related to this operation. Results can not be recovered after deleting. |

Go to the worksheet containing this operation's input data. If this operation has multiple source worksheets, Origin will go to the first one. If this operation has multiple lock icons, Origin will go to the first source worksheet of this operation. (To distinguish overlapped lock icons, change the lock icon position from Layer Icon to First Point or Last Point by choosing Data: Lock Position: First Point/Last Point.) |

Go to the result worksheet of this operation. This menu is available only when a Graph window is active. If this operation has multiple result worksheets, Origin will go to the first one. If this operation has multiple lock icons, Origin will go to the first result worksheet of this operation. |

Plot the input data with Data Markers in a new Graph window. |
| Recalculate mode: Manual/Auto/None |
The selected mode will show a check mark next to it. Change the mode by selecting another option. |
| Show Info |
Write notes and input/output information out to the script window. |
| Generate script |
Generate a LabTalk script according to the current operation and settings, and output the script to the Script Window. Executing the script will yield the same results as repeating the operation with the settings. |
| Repeat this Analysis to All Plots |
Repeat the analysis of the current plot to all visible plots (except the current plot) on the current graph. If there are multiple plots in the graph, and you have performed analysis on one of them, use this context menu item to perform the same analysis on all other plots. |
If Recalculate is set to Auto, changes to input data will result in an automatic update and the lock icon will always appear green. Occasionally, with more complex operations or larger data sets, the icon may momentarily appear yellow while the update is being processed, but will revert to green when the update process has completed. When the icon is green, the lock icon's context menu will display the same options as in the table above, but the Recalculate option will be grayed out.
