As mentioned, the matrix book must contain at least one and may contain as many as 121 matrix sheets. In turn, each matrix sheet contains one or more matrix objects (the "hard limit" is 65k objects in a sheet, though system resources will likely determine the actual limit).
A number of important matrix properties belong to the matrix sheet, and are thus shared among the sheet's matrix objects. Among those properties are the matrix dimensions (which determine the number of Z data points), the matrix data type, data format and display characteristics and the matrix coordinate values (the range of X and Y values).
