Node-locked Licenses (Computer ID-based)

A system transfer is required if you plan to replace your licensed Origin computer with a different computer.

If Origin can still run on your computer

Computer has internet access

  1. Log into Windows with an Administrator log in account.
  2. Start Origin (for Windows Vista and Windows 7, RIGHT-click on the Origin icon and select "Run as Administrator")
  3. Click on the Help menu and select Deactivate License.

  4. Choose Online in Step 1 and click Connect Now.

  5. You will be sent to the OriginLab website. Log in and click on Get Deactivation Code (DC).

  6. Copy the DC and paste the DC into Step 2 in Origin.
  7. Click the Deactivate button in Origin. This will deactivate Origin on your computer. It will also send the information to the OriginLab website and release one license for you.

Computer does not have internet access

  1. Open Origin (for Windows Vista and Windows 7, RIGHT-click on the Origin icon and select "Run as Administrator")
  2. Click on the Help menu and select Deactivate License.

  3. Choose Offline in Step 1.

  4. On a computer with internet access, manually go to http://www.originlab.com/reginfo and log in.
  5. Click on the serial number that you are deactivating to see what computers you have obtained licenses for.
  6. Click the corresponding Deactivate a license link and then follow the steps provided to get a Deactivation Code (DC).

  7. Make note of the DC and go back to the computer without internet access. Enter the DC into Origin to generate a Deactivation Confirmation Number (DCN).

  8. Make note of the DCN and then go back to the Deactivate License web page from the previous step. Enter the DCN back into Step 3 of this page.

When you see a success message, one license is released for re-use. If you don't enter the DCN back to the OriginLab website, a license will not be released.

If your licensed Origin computer is no longer available

You must contact your local Origin Distributor or OriginLab Technical Support to complete the system transfer process.

Concurrent Networks

A system transfer is only required if you need to replace the FLEXnet license server. It is not needed when replacing an Origin computer.

To obtain a replacement FLEXnet license server license file, contact your local Origin Distributor or OriginLab Technical Support.

Dongles

A system transfer is not needed when replacing a dongle-managed Origin computer.
