Origin's Area Graphs are the ideal graphing solution when you need to track
trends in your data. Area graphs illustrate how one or more quantities change
over time as well as how each quantity contributes to the sum of all quantities.

Area Graph Example
|
|
In Origin, the Area graph plot type is a special kind of line
graph where the Fill Area setting has been enabled and set to Normal
for each plotted data set.
When one data set is plotted, the filled area extends from the plot down
to the "From" scale value of the Y axis.
When multiple data sets are plotted at the same time, each is given a
different area fill color. Origin then stacks each plot on top of the
previous one. This allows you to see how each data plot contributes to
the sum of all plotted data sets.

The properties of an Area graph can be changed to include features typically
seen in Scatter
and Line and Symbol
graphs, too.
