Origin's 3 Point Segment graphs offer an alternative to using dashed
and/or dotted lines in a line and symbol graph.

3 Point Segment Graph Example
|
|
This plot type is a special kind of line
and symbol graph where the line connection is set to 3 Point Segment
automatically.
To create this type of connection, Origin alternates
a straight line connection for three points and a no line connection for
one point. Thus, every three consecutive data points are connected by
a line (the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd data points, the 4th, 5th, and 6th data
points, etc.).
Since the 3pt segment plot is made up of both line
and scatter graph components, its details are the same and are therefore
not covered in a separate page.
