Fitting Peaks with the Peak Analyzer

In OriginPro, the Peak Analyzer is capable of performing non-linear curve fitting to the peaks with built-in or user-defined functions. Available built-in functions include:

  • Gaussian
  • GassAmp
  • Bigaussian
  • GaussMod
  • GCAS
  • ESC
  • CCE
  • Lorentz
  • LogNormal
  • Voigt
  • PsdVoigt1
  • PsdVoigt2
  • PearsonVII

  • Asym2Sig
  • Weibull3
  • InvsPoly
  • Sine
  • SineSqr
  • SineDamp
  • Pulse
  • FrqserSuzuki
  • DoniachSunjic
  • Gaussian_LorenCross
  • ConsGaussian
  • HVL
  • BWF

Peaks in a dataset may sometimes be described by different functions. For instance, the first peak might be Gaussian while the second is Lorentzian. With the Peak Analyzer, you can fit data using a different function for each peak.

Assign Different Function for each peak in Peak Fit Parameters Dialog

When the fitting is done, a peak report can be generated. In addition to the fitting statistics results such as Degree of Freedom and Reduced Chi-Sqr, the characteristics of each peak are also summarized in the report. Below is a sample peak report:

The fitted values and standard errors of the parameters are output to the fit peak report:
